The Painted House

After receiving his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City 30 years ago, Jeff Renow began his career in the providing graphic design services to top New York advertising agencies.  Eventually, he shifted to working full-time creating murals and faux finishes for interior designers and architects.  In 1989 he moved to Asheville, NC to become a partner in a construction development company, with an emphasis on innovative architecture and design.  Renow spent several years restoring historic homes while continuing to develop his artistic skills.  In 1992 a commission for the new Henderson County Federal Court House allowed him to further his career as well as train other artists.  After landing in Greenville, SC in 1997 The Painted House grew to 6 full-time artists doing extensive work for downtown restaurants and businesses, and working in some of the finest residential homes in the area.   “One of the most exciting things for me,” says Renow, “is to see an environment change over the course of a few days after we’ve put our touch onto the surfaces.  We work very closely with our clientele and focus on implementing their ideas into a space as tastefully as possible.” The Painted House showroom is located in Greenville’s fashionable West End, and our 5,000 square foot studio is located in the Cherrydale area.
